First, I never believed in my life that anything could affect the playing of football globally. It was a big shock seeing top European leagues as well as our league all closing down because of the virus. It is really dreaded. But I thank God for his protection over us during this period. Though it has dragged football back, but being alive is important.
So when are you hoping to resume training?
Presently, I am at home now and we are all being careful. We are looking forward to further directives from the league management then our club can notify us on when we resume training. But I personally do some personal fitness training at home, just to keep fit during the lockdown.
Tell us about the toughest match you have played in your career?
The toughest match I have ever played is our league match was against FC Robo Queens in 2018. It was an away match in which we needed victory to salvage three points and the situation was very tough. Eventually we won by 1-0. It did not come easy.
What really made it the toughest, since you won by 1-0?
It was the toughest because the chances we created were not commensurate with the one goal that we scored. Pressure was heaped on us because we could not score despite playing from away. As a footballer, it is extremely painful when you create many chances in a match and your team fail to convert it to a goal. At some point, I had to join in the attack, but thanks to the experience of our coach, we got the decisive goal that gave us the victory and we won by 1-0.
Do you see yourself playing for Super Falcons?
I am looking forward to that and I know I have gotten the experience required to wear the national team jersey of the female team. I hope the opportunity is given to me to show my quality. Nasarawa Amazon have given me enough playing time and exposure, and I know if that chance comes, I will make the best use of it.
On a personal note, are you in any relationship?
I am in a relationship, but I really do not want to talk about that. For now, I want to concentrate on my career and get the best out of it.
