African champions Al Ahly of Egypt finished third in the FIFA Club World Cup on Thursday after beating Palmeiras of Brazil.

The game which ended in barren draw saw the tie taken to penalties after 120 minutes.

Goalkeeper Mohammed El Shenawy became the hero in the clash. He saved the penalties that saw the Egyptian giants win after Nigeria’s Ajayi Junior scored the last penalty.

El Shewanwy who made the stop had earlier charged his teammates to focus on the game after the 2-0 loss to Bayern.

“Lets put the game against Bayern behind, and look forward to the third place”.

The Egyptian has also said he is looking forward to be part of the Egyptian squad that will come to Qatar for the FIFA World Cup which will be hosted in the Middle East.
