Maurizio Sarri had a taste of premier league defeat since arrival at the Stamford Bridge after his side suffered a 3-1 defeat in the hands of Tottenham Hotspur who indeed deserved victory. This victory means Pochettino's men unseated their visitors from the third position to take up the position for the first time since this season,  while Chelsea drops to the fourth position and are five points adrift league leaders Manchester City. No doubt, Spurs outplayed Chelsea leading to Dele Alli and Harry Kane's early goals in the first 16 minutes of play to put the game at 2-0 before halftime. In the second half Son Heung-Min's 54th minutes' goal for Spurs heaped further pressure on the Blues, before a Giroud's consolation goal for the visiting side came in the 85th minutes but did not affect the victory of the home side. Pochettino who was so pleased with his side's performance was reported by BBC Sport to say: "There's no need for me to talk too much. I am so happy, so pleased," Pochettino told Match of the Day. "I don't need to analyze too much. All credit to the players because they were fantastic. "The staff are so happy managing this group of players. We need to be humble and recognize playing like this, we can do big things. "Our challenge is to keep going and be consistent. That's our challenge for the rest of the season." Chelsea finished fifth last season and their early form this term had seen them in contention for a surprise title push, but those aspirations have suffered a setback following this loss.
