Super Falcons new coach Randy Waldrum started his debut with a 1-0 win at the Turkish women's Cup 2021 to grab the maximum three points available in the match.

According to report from the team media officer of the nine time African champions Oluchi tobex Tobechukwu, the tough match recorded a lot of caution cards but ended up in favour of the falcons.

Super Falcon's Chiwendu Ihezuo tapped the ball into the net via a square play from Francisca Ordega from the right flank in the 18' minutes of the game.

It was the only goal of the match as Waldrum's girls were disciplined enough to hold on to that goal for 90 minutes. The Russian side failed in all their effort to level up in a match that saw Tony Payne and Patricia George make their debut for the Falcons.

Coach Randy Wandrum who was pleased with the girls performance expressed his feelings on the girls performance.

"I was actually pretty pleased over all especially for the team that had not been together for over a year" a delighted Waldrum started. "I was pleased that we got the result in my first camp with the team".

"It is important we win and learn how to win ,a lot of positives in the match". "Personally as a coach getting a first win for Nigeria was really Special, I am excited and proud of the players".

Super Falcon's one nil victory over CSKA puts Nigeria second on the table with 3 points. They trail Uzbekistan who remain on top with three points, but with a goal difference which made them record a massive 5-0 victory over Nigeria's African counterpart Equatorial Guinea.

The Super Falcons will on Saturday take on the Asian side-Uzbekistan by 5pm Nigerian Time.
