The Super Falcons of Nigeria beat the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon by 1-0 to secure a semifinal spot and, by extension, qualify for the World Cup. Rasheedat Ajibade’s 57th minute goal at the Stade Mohammed in Casablanca made the difference as the Falcons took a lead that was filled with tension and high expectations for both fans of the two sides. Nigeria will now face Morocco in the semifinal as both sides have qualified for the World Cup, which will be co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand, while Cameroon will look forward to qualifying for the World Cup through play-offs.
