Adeoye Hussein, a student of Command Day Secondary school Ikeja who share certain similarities with Nigeria’s table tennis Icon Segun Toriola has emerged.
The 9-years-old was in action on Friday 22 November , 2019 during the finals of the maiden edition of the Somolu Newspaper U-16 Table-Tennis Championship.
The event which took place at the Somolu Local Government Sports Hall inside the Agunbiade School brought memories of Segun Toriola.
Adeoye wore his canvass and tugged in his top in the same manner Segun Toriola would do. More so, his positioning during service was a clear indication that another Toriola is emerging from Somolu.
When he misses a stroke or knocks the ball out, he expresses himself in a Toriola-like manner suggesting that the young boy could just be another star in making.
Anyone who knows Segun Toriola and watch little Adeoye play will certainly agree that there are some similarities shared between the two.
However, what was not ascertained as at time of filing this story was if Adeoye had watched Segun Toriola play severally or kit up for a match.
Adeoye who reached the final of the male category of the championship finished second, after losing to 12-years-old Tijani Abdul Rasak from Oduduwa Junior High School.
