Sports consultant and Chairman Edo State Sports Commission Godwin Dudu-Orumen has stated that the NFF 1st Vice President Seyi Akinwunmi Esq. is a positive person for grassroots football development in the country.

Dudu-Orumen who spoke with Sports Intelligence Magazine correspondent commented on the unannounced visit of Akinwunmi to Crest Football Academy today in Lagos today. "Seyi Akinwunmi is very supportive to grassroots and developmental football" he started. "He spends his time and money on initiatives like that and this is good for the game". "He always supports Crest Football Academy with his presence, motivational talks, gifts and sponsors children to participate in the programme" he added. "Crest Football Academy was established in 2007 for children aged from 5-17 years of age. It is a weekend programme that engages them for physical and mental development on the platform of football". "The initiative is premised on sports being a veritable platform for the development of children for the challenges life may throw at them, and its good that Akinwunmi is involved in it". Dudu-Orumen further informed that "So far, Crest Football Academy have had about 4000 participants and some have gone on scholarships to Universities in the USA and Canada".
