The Lagos State Table Tennis Association has thrown her weight behind the forthcoming Somolu Newspaper U-16 Championship.
The two-day event which kicks off tomorrow Wednesday November 21 2019, at the Agunbiade Table Tennis Indoor hall at Somolu, Lagos will end on 22nd November 2019.
Commenting on the programme, the Chairman of the LSTTA Mr Femi Sokoya who gave the endorsement at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos described the event as a "lofty and premium Sporting project in the state.
"We are excited at the project because it will help to to develop youths at the grassroots level in disciplined manner". It will also create awareness among students at the local government for the project and we are looking forward to it".
Sokoya who heaped praises on Mr. Bada Sherrif for organizing such an event, said the idea is a fantastic one and the Association has given her full support to the event.
The two-day event will be hosting over 10 public schools with about 100 students competing within the Somolu local government area.
It will also afford the area opportunity to discover new talents since the likes of Omotayo Olajide and Funke Oshonaike who are notable stars playing for Nigeria started from the Somolu Local government area.
