French giant, Paris Saint-German where officially edged out of the champions league by Manchester United despite having a first-leg 2-0 away lead advantage, the first of its kind and the best advantage the club have recorded so far in Europe.

But he was asked to leave the club after his side was knocked out in the quarterfinal of the champions league by Barcelona on a 3-3 aggregate in 2013. Interestingly, his next managerial appointment was with Real Madrid in 2014, where he delivered the champions league title to the Spanish side.

His departure ushered in the presence of Laurenc Blanc who took charge for another four seasons, winning the domestic in all the period in charge but failing to accomplish the ultimate goal which was winning the ultimate title in European club football. He however guided the club to the quarter-final of the champions league.

Following the departure of Laurenc Blanc, Unai Emery came from Sevilla after winning three consecutive Europa League trophies with the Spanish side but failed to replicate same with PSG in their quest to win the ultimate price in European club football. Worse still, he took the quarterfinal accomplishment of the former manager backward, finishing in the round of 16 in his two years period of stint with the club.

Thomas Tuchel arrived in 2018 with determination and desire to surpass previous records set by the French side in Europe, his side recorded a resounding 2-0 away victory against former champions Manchester United, but that lead was overturned in France with a 1-3 victory that condemned the French giant to a round of 16 finish for the third time in a row.

The situation seems tough despite the heavy spending made by the club, but one fact that is missing is that Paris Saint-German still need a manager who has the capacity to chase multiple trophies in a single season, imbibe in the players the winning mentality required to conquer Europe and have a total control of the players.

Perhaps, Carlos Ancelotti would have made a remarkable impact if allowed to stay for at least three years in France. The club need a manager who have conquered European football as a manager, not withstanding the fact that a young manager may do the magic but someone who should be in total control of the team.
