The Scotland international made headlines this summer when he completed a surprise move from Nottingham Forest to Red Bull Leipzig in a £13m deal Express reports
A host of Premier League clubs were tracking him throughout the transfer window with Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs and Chelsea all showing interest.
The 19-year-old even came close to completing a move to White Hart Lane, but failed to seal the deal.
But he admits a move to a top side in England was never on the cards as he didn't want to be sent out on loan, citing Chelsea as a prime example of not giving their younger players a chance to impress.
"I was going to visit Tottenham," he told the Daily Mail.
"But I said no because Leipzig showed enough care and attention to the little details. For a young man I don’t want to go somewhere that is a big club and be thinking am I going to play?
"Am I going to progress? Or are they just going to stick me out on loan, which happens a lot at English clubs.
"You can only look at Chelsea, and see the amount of talent they have, but they’re all on loan, not getting used.
